Abstract

The paper explores the role of archaeological heritage as a regenerative resource in the Campi Flegrei, a territory characterised by high settlement density, layered historical and cultural stratifications, and multiple vulnerabilities. Through an integrated methodological approach – based on GIS databases, analytical mapping and photographic campaigns – the work investigates systemic criticalities related to territorial isolation, the fragmentation of mobility networks and inadequacies in emergency management. The research proposes a strategy of a diffuse archaeological park in the Bacoli peninsula, focusing on Lake Fusaro as an emblematic case. The integrated design itinerary aims to overcome the condition of marginality through slow mobility routes, radial connections and targeted microinterventions that recompose the relationships between well-known and lesser-known archaeological sites, the urban fabric and natural elements. In this way, heritage is reinterpreted as a territorial and landscape infrastructure capable of generating new forms of urban welfare, multifunctional public spaces and complementary scenarios for risk prevention, while at the same time enhancing collective identities and spatial justice in highly complex contexts.
