Abstract

The use of vegetation in architecture for improving energy performances of built environment is a well established design practice. In the context of the progressive spread of urban greening, vegetation can be considered as an architectural component, not only as element applied to a building surface. Besides gaining a role in the language of architecture, vegetation, and especially spontaneous vegetation, could lead to theoretical developments related to design and management processes and methodologies, aimed at anthropic needs and Tiers paysage arrangements.[3] In this sense, possible mitigations of dichotomies are outlined.
