Abstract

The territory tells us stories, stories made up of people who have lived and transformed it and have been transformed by itself, in turn by an exchange, sometimes reciprocal. Today we live in the territory we have been left by the young people of the past, connoisseurs of knowledge handed down from previous generations, specifically of tradition of the “macere” of the Amalfi Coast, of the dry stone walls. There is a practical knowledge of the master, of the master builder, that today is necessary to bring it together with the specific professional technical training which represents the key to knowing how to design, recover a macera and know how to do it. The need to know the construction tecnique in order to be able to intervene on existing buildings – this is the approach we propose so that local intervention methods shared with the bodies the govern the territory can be born. The purpose of Pontinpietra is to transmit the traditional knowledge of engineering construction techniques through the school building sites.
