Sustainable Mediterranean Construction
The present article moves from the Research outcomes of the international project GREAT Med, “Generating a Risk and Ecological Analysis Toolkit for the Mediterranean”. The two year project, developed under the coordination of two Departments of the Sapienza University of Rome, and funded by the European Commission, under the Cross-border Cooperation Programme “ENPI CBC Mediterranean Basin”. The project goal is to develop strategies, methodologies and techniques for the conservation and enhancement of marine-coastal areas, paying attention to risks related to human activities, with a special care for sustainable use of coastal areas.
Among the expected outcomes, a special attention would be payed to the dissemination of identified best practices on renewable materials, recycled, from upcycled and reusable. Those renewable materials will be employed for drywall construction techniques, in order to design eco-sustainable residential infrastructures.
