of energy cities in large communities through challenges and opportunities. The experiences already in existing communities built from the bottom up, thanks to the support of associations and inhabitants, thus underlining their social value. The paper try to reverse the point of view and build communities around urban transformation projects of dismissed areas within cities. This includes industrial districts that have great potential to be transformed into green energy production centers for new neighborhoods.
