has recognized the necessity of sustainable development and urban renewal. The novelty of the study lies on the first systematic analysis of energy interventions in public buildings, based on IoT. In general, public buildings, account for significant energy consumption, making energy efficiency in the public sector a key sustainability challenge. The use of IoT offers innovative solutions for real-time energy monitoring and management, enabling significant energy savings while addressing architectural constraints. The study methodology includes statistical data analysis, case studies, and energy consumption modeling, in public buildings in Ioannina. Despite challenges such as installation costs and skill gaps, IoT integration is crucial for reducing the environmental footprint and fostering sustainable urban development.
